![]() ![]() When meeting Jackie in 'real life', people are surprised by her accent - she is in fact Scottish. Born in Stirling, Scotland, Jackie's family re-located to inner-city Birmingham when she was a child. Being small (she measures a tiny 5ft!) and Scottish made settling into her all-girl 'Brummie' school a bit of a struggle. It was that struggle and her resulting lack of confidence that caused Jackie to stumble upon the Drama training that would lead to an amazing career as an actress.
Jackie was selected from thousands of young hopefuls to become a member of The Central Junior Television Workshop. At the time this elite group was made up of a small number of talented youngsters from under-privileged areas of Birmingham and Nottingham. The training was intense and superb opening the doors to fabulous opportunities from working directly with the RSC to a New York student exchange programme. It was that early training that provided the inspiration for The Jacqueline Chadwick Academy of Performing Arts.
![]() By the age of 11, Jackie was already appearing in an annual spoof Drama series on ITV (Palace Hill) as Shirley Anne Turtledove - a time traveller from the 1950's! Her career went from strength to strength and Jackie was one of the lucky few actors to find themselves in constant, varied work in an industry famed for being 'Feast or Famine'.
As a dedicated mother of two, fame-shy Jackie made the unusual decision to quit her celebrity career and focus on the now hugely successful Academy of Performing Arts.

Jackie manages to combine her hands-on work as the Managing Director of The Academy with a flourishing career as an author - the first in her new series of books for young adults is currently in the process of publication in the U.S.A.
![]() Where does she get the energy? "Passion, I'm passionate about everything in my life - my beautiful husband, children, work, creativity and my precious Academy. From cooking to producing our fabulous shows - I do it all from the heart and I always give 100%"
